Speak Low If You Speak Love, het solo-project van State Champs’ bassist Ryan Scott Graham, heeft een eigen bewerking van het Jimmy Eat World nummer “Kill” gedeeld. Beluister de track hieronder.

Het origineel stamt van het Jimmy Eat World album Futures, uit 2004.

Ryan legt uit waar het nummer over gaat en dat hij al enige tijd wacht op het juiste moment om dit nummer uit te brengen:

“I had originally worked on the cover to be part of a Jimmy Eat World tribute that never came to fruition. ‘Kill’ is about utmost vulnerability, so when I was asked to be a part of the project covering this song made the most sense to me. Speak Low has always been an endeavor that attempts to put real human emotion on display, and I think this song captures that essence so well. There are no frills – just a beautiful and distressing story of missed chances.”

Op 26 februari staat Ryan Scott als de bassist van State Champs op de bühne van de Melkweg in Amsterdam om hun meest recente album Around the World and Back (2015) te promoten.
