After having a fun and successful SXSW, we awoke on the morning of March 15th, 2014 to find that our 6×10 trailer was missing. After numerous phone calls to tow companies, we realized that it had been stolen along with all its contents. For the second time in six weeks, we had been robbed. All in all, the thieves stole over $15,000 worth of gear, including a handcrafted Moniker Guitar, a custom floor tom, a vintage, antique coronet, several rare recording microphones, and over $4,000 in merchandise. More importantly, this incident robbed us of the ability to do what we love the most: play music for people all across this wonderful country. While we are scrambling to find whoever was responsible for this act, we realize the odds of recovering our equipment are slim. Many of our friends, family members, and fans have already asked how they can help, and we are blown away by the support and encouragement we have received. But, in order to get us back on our feet and on the road, the unfortunate truth is we will need funds to replace these losses.
If you feel inclined to help us out, it is with much gratitude and humility that we ask that you donate to our Paypal to directly help replace the stolen equipment. We realize there are much bigger issues in the world, far more important than this, and by no means should anyone feel obligated to donate. But we also know that there are people who believe in this band and have supported us for years, and if you want to help us, we will be eternally grateful. Any amount helps (really, even a buck!), and for those who donate over $30, we will be pressing and shipping a limited edition t-shirt along with a handwritten note. Please indicate your size and let us know if you want it autographed, too!
While this gift is small, we feel that we should give something back. We are blessed to be able to make music and share it with the world, and we truly appreciate anyone who can help us get back to doing that as soon as possible.
Remember: bad, horrible things do exist and happen in this world, but the good always outweighs the bad, the light always outshines the darkness. We carry on knowing that this is true. Long Live the Street Sharks.
Love,
Driver Friendly
