The 1975 treedt op met orkest

Voor het weekend heeft The 1975 een speciaal optreden met het BBC Philharmonic gespeeld. De formatie speelde zowel eigen materiaal als een aantal covers.

Frontman Matt Healy geeft via BBC Radio 1 toe nogal onder de indruk te zijn geweest van de hele onderneming:

“I was crying today, at times. The orchestra really makes the up moments more celebratory and the down moments more introspective and melancholy. It’s the first time I’ve wanted to do another run through of a soundcheck. It was incredible.”

Tijdens dit memorabele optreden werd het nummer “Please Be Naked” voor het eerst sinds de release live gespeeld. Beluister hieronder de 1975 cover van One Direction’s “What Makes You Beautiful”.
