Paul McCartney kondigt compilatie aan

De voormalig Beatle Sir Paul McCartney komt met een nieuw compilatie-album. De vier platen van deze carrière-overbruggende verzameling zullen totaal 67 tracks bevatten waaronder zijn solodebuut uit 1970, werk met The Wings en Michael Jackson, remixes uit 2015 en meer!

Pure McCartney komt uit op 10 juni en zal verkrijgbaar zijn als 2 CD’s, 4 CD’s of 4 LP’s. Bekijk de volledige tracklist hier. De cover is hiernaast te zien.

McCartney zegt over het project dat het eigenlijk voor de lol samen is gesteld en dat het woord carrière misleidend is omdat het nooit als fatsoenlijke baan gevoeld heeft:

“Me and my team came up with the idea of putting together a collection of my recordings with nothing else in mind other than having something fun to listen to. Maybe it’s to be enjoyed on a long car journey or an evening at home or at a party with friends? So we got our heads together and came up with these diverse playlists from various periods of my long and winding career. The word “career” is a bit misleading because to me it has been more like a musical adventure than a proper job….It pleases me, and often amazes me, that I’ve been involved in the writing and recording of so many songs, each of them so different from the others.”

Twee dagen na de release (zondag 12 juni) staat de zanger op het hoofdpodium van Pinkpop.
