Eerder dit jaar kwam er naar buiten dat er veel problemen zijn tussen de bandleden van Blink-182.  Travis Barker en Mark Hoppus lieten weten dat toen de band in de studio had moeten zitten, DeLonge het liet afweten omdat hij niet de behoefte had nieuwe muziek op te nemen.

In de tussentijd wordt de lege plaats in de band gevuld door Alkaline Trio’s Matt Skiba, maar Tom DeLonge heeft onlangs wederom laten weten dat hij zich graag weer bij de band zou voegen. Dat vertelde hij in een interview met NME.  “I loved that band, I started that band,” aldus de muzikant. “That’s me. I named the band—that shit came from me. [Being in Blink] cannot be the only thing in my life, or can it be the absolute priority. But can it be a part of my life? Absolutely. I love that band. I could not do anything that I’m doing now without the fans of that band. If I did not have the fans of Blink, I would not exist.”

Hij denkt echter dat het niet makkelijk zal zijn. “It has to map up with everybody’s life. I think if all the roads that we’re travelling [sic] connect at the same intersection, which is usually a location and a date, then we’re good.”

“We haven’t spoken since all that shit’s gone down – but that’s not un-normal. The Rolling Stones would go three years without talking to each other, then Mick and Keith would be hugging and saying ‘fuck I missed you’. It’s just how it works.”

In april bracht DeLonge het soloalbum To the Stars… Demos, Odds and Ends uit, dat onder andere materiaal bevat dat DeLonge oorspronkelijk geschreven had om met Blink-182 op te nemen.
