Blink-182 komt met nieuw album

De heren van Blink-182 hopen volgend jaar, aan het einde van de zomer, een nieuw album uit te brengen. Begin volgend jaar zal de band terugkeren naar de studio en hier ook pas beginnen met het schrijven van nieuwe nummers. Het is ook niet zo dat de bandleden al eerder de kans hadden om samen nieuwe muziek te maken, Mark Hoppus woont namelijk in Londen, Travis Barker in Los Angeles en Tom DeLonge in San Diego. Laatstgenoemde is ook druk geweest met zijn andere band, Angels & Airwaves. Check hieronder wat Hoppus te zeggen had over het nieuwe album.

The punk-pop band released their most recent album and their sixth studio LP, ‘Neighborhoods’, in 2009. Speaking to Kerrang!, bassist Mark Hoppus said that the trio are hoping to head into the studio at the start of next year and have the record out not long after. “We haven’t thought about any new songs yet,” said Hoppus, but explained that the band will write the new album when they reconvene in the studio.

“It always happens when the three of us are together in a room,” said Hoppus of writing. “Because when [we’re not touring], Tom lives in San Diego, Travis lives in Los Angeles and I live in London, so we don’t really talk all that much. But then when we get in a room together, it all falls into place and we start making jokes. That’s when we start writing songs and reconnecting with everything.”
