Fans zamelen geld in voor zieke hond Chelsea Grin bassist

De laatste tijd komt het steeds vaker voor dat bands hun contract met een platenmaatschappij verbreken en hierdoor geld nodig hebben van hun fans om nieuw materiaal op te nemen en uit te brengen. David Flinn, de bassist van Chelsea Grin, vroeg wel iets heel bijzonders aan zijn fans. Zijn hondje, Solo, heeft onlangs namelijk drie tenen en een groeischijf in zijn poot gebroken. De dierenarts vertelde Flinn dat het hondje zo snel mogelijk een operatie nodig had, maar dat Flinn de operatiekosten van tevoren moest betalen. Het is zo dat menig muzikant niet zo veel verdient, dus besloot Flinn zijn fans om hulp te vragen in het volgende bericht.

This is David Flinn, first and foremost I want to apologize for what im about to ask for. Today my puppy Solo broke three fingers and his growth plate. The vet has told me he needs surgery and scheduled it for 10:30am tomorrow morning. Some of you may know that most musicians dont make that much money. The surgery is going to cost $2,300 and I have to pay it up front. I know this number sounds ridiculous for a pet but im sure if any of you have had to go through this you know it is not cheap. I have enough money to pay for rent and food for my family but after that I can not afford the surgery so I have no choice but to ask for your help. If I had anyone else to ask I would but I dont really come from money. So this is where you come in. If anyone would like to help by donating any amount of money it would help greatly.

Nog op de zelfde dag werd het doel, $2.300, bereikt binnen no time. Niet alleen David Flinn, maar ook de rest van Chelsea Grin, waren hun fans heel dankbaar en uitten dat op hun Facebookpagina.
