Issues licht het nummer “Collins Hill” toe

Tyler Carter, frontman van Issues, heeft een boekje open gedaan over het nummer “Collins Hill”. Hij bleef vragen krijgen over de betekenis van het nummer en of het wel of niet van toepassing was op zijn leven. Het nummer gaat over een moeilijke relatie uit zijn verleden. Some of you may have heard my song Collins Hill ft Chris Schnapp on youtube. I been getting a lot of messages where people are asking if the song is relevant to my life, or what the song is actually about.

Basically a few years ago I fell in love. Typical story yea? Well, a friendship developed from this experience for sure, but none the less the scenario comes from a dark period in my life. This girl I was indebted to was bearing a child. She was perfect to me but cursed in a sense. She needed a hero and that hero had to be me.

Throughtout our whole existence I had to deal with her ex. He was a bastard for sure. He made our relationship hell and nearly impossible. When things went downhill I started writing this song. I had sat on the concept of this song for a couple years before I finally was able to bring it to life. The song is basically a letter to this guy written from the girl. She tells him in the letter about the child and the emotions she struggles with.

The line “it’s been this way since before the birth” basically just means that this guy was a piece of shit before the kid even came into the picture and that sometimes things just never change.

In the video I personally play the piece of shit character, and I am singing the letter that she wrote to him.

Things are good now and I love her to death and maintain a healthy friendship but this was just another milestone in my life I wanted to share with my career.
