Destine last pauze in

Het is de laatste maanden redelijk stil rondom de Nederlandse band Destine. Zij speelden de afgelopen tijd vrij weinig shows en na de release van hun nieuwste album Illuminate, zijn zij het erover eens geworden dat het beter is voorlopig een pauze te nemen. In onderstaande statement, die zij op hun website plaatsten, kun je lezen waarom:

Lately it’s been a little less busy at Destine HQ than usually so we figured we’d update you guys a bit!

After the release of Illuminate we’ve tried to start working on new material right away, but things didn’t really work out and we weren’t satisfied with what we had done so far. We were already planning new recording sessions when the songs weren’t even written, and soon enough we realized we needed to approach the writing process different this time. When you get the chance to make playing in a band your dayjob, create music for so many people and travel around the world – the only way to do it is doing it with your entire heart. We would definitely never release music with Destine that we don’t feel is a hundred percent significant in any way. That’s one of the main reasons that we decided that the only way to create new music that we think is truly great, is not to have any schedule or deadlines for now.

We will not be touring or playing shows the next few months and you will probably not hear as much from us as you’re used to. We think it will do us good to have no obligations or pressure for some time and have the ability to work on new material whenever we feel like it.

Je hoeft Laurens, Tom, Jordy en Hubrecht echter niet bijster lang te missen. Zij hebben nog een optreden staan met hun andere band, The Dirty Daddies. Op 15 maart treden zij op in Podium de Klomp te Ovezande.
