New Found Glory geeft opheldering

Een paar dagen geleden liet de frontman van New Found Glory in een interview weten dat zij na hun huidige tour een hiatus, een soort van tijdelijke pauze, zouden inlassen.  Zo zou hij het volgende gezegd hebben:

I think we need to go away for a little bit. We’ve been touring for a long time. I don’t think anybody’s in the headspace for writing a new record. We won’t go away completely; we’re still gonna be doing things here and there, probably some one-offs and things like that. But to be honest I don’t think we’ll have anything new out until 2014. Oh, I’m completely confident we’ll be back. We’ve done this before… the last time we had a long break was probably 2006 or 2007. A record runs its course and we take a break, and before long we’re ready to do something again.

Vlak na het horen van deze roddel reageerde gitarist Chad Gilbert als volgt:

Why did someone say we are going on hiatus? That’s the dumbest rumor I’ve ever heard! We love what we do. You couldn’t pay us to quit! Hiatus is not for NFG. We like playing shows and being a band more than anything. I think what Jordan said was misconstrued! Work your butt off and one butthole adds his own statement to the end of an interview & the world believes it. Jordan never said those words. Anyway! Goodnight world. Glad you know the real deal now! A Hiatus can kiss my A$$!

Wel is zeker dat het rondom de band voorlopig niet stil zal zijn. Zo kondigde Chad Gilbert aan dat New Found Glory volgend jaar een livealbum uit zal brengen, waar ook een aantal nieuwe nummers op komen te staan. Hieronder kun je een Tweet van Gilbert lezen.
