Hit The Lights werkt aan nieuw materiaal
“The new HTL record…
Starts today. It has been three years since the release of “Skip School Start Fights”, and I know that it has seemed like an eternity for some of you, as it has seemed like an eternity-and-a-half for us. Most of this has been out of our control as we have been dealing with the oh-so-typical record label bullshit. Though it was never intentional, HTL has always had these massive gaps between record releases. It has always had to do with situations that left us in “record purgatory”, but in every case(including this one) it has turned out for the best. It’s not easy being in a band, especially when dealing with the ever-so-fading music industry; but somehow, HTL has survived. There is no doubt that our fans are that “somehow”. I’ve put many-a-blog posts about how much we appreciate your support, but just know that it is completely genuine, and the backbone that we get from fans on the road is the direct and absolute reason why we still are, and can remain a band. You are the reason that we came out of “This is a Stickup…” and “Skip School” stronger than ever and you are the reason we are making this record now. I can tell you that we’ve written more songs for this record than we ever thought possible. Most of those songs you thankfully will NEVER hear. I’m sure we’ll release a couple from time to time, but the songs that will be on this new record are songs that could never be on “Stick Up” or “Skip School”. We’ve grown up on the road, gotten older and have changed. I think the same can be said for our fans. The songs that have come out of this experience are far deeper and more meaningful to me than any of our previous material. It’s going to be a big, dark, beautiful record and the people we have behind us I have no doubt will help us deliver. We’ll keep all of you updated on what we’re doing with videos, maybe some clips of songs, either way; just know it’s happening and we can’t thank you enough for being so patient and constantly asking us “WHERE THE FUCK IS NEW MUSIC?!”. It just means you’re still paying attention and that means everything. Alright; LEZ DO THIS.”
