Kaiser Chiefs kondigt album aan
De Britten van Kaiser Chiefs hebben de nodige details voor hun aankomende plaat gedeeld. Er een nieuwe single, albumtitel, tracklist, cover en releasedatum online gezet.
De nieuwe track heet “Parachutes” en is hieronder te beluisteren. Het nummer zal terug komen op het album Stay Together, wat uitkomt op 7 oktober.
Het zesde album van de band uit Leeds volgt Education, Education, Education and War uit 2014 op. Zanger Ricky Wilson legt uit dat, in tegenstelling tot hun laatste album, Stay Together geen politiek geladen protestplaat, maar eerder een liefdesalbum is:
“When we finished writing the last record we realised that the most important thing to everyone is what’s going on in their lives. Their ‘personal politics’ and that’s what this album is about.”
“If ‘Education, Education, Education & War’ was our protest album, then ‘Stay Together’ is our relationship album. [Producer Brian Higgins] brought a very different approach to song writing and recording, it was a steep learning curve but together we tried out new ideas and sounds and ended up with a new and fresh sounding Kaiser Chiefs album. Like no Kaiser Chiefs record you have heard before.”
