We Are The In Crowd hongert naar meer
I have pride in the real hard work we’ve put in to discover what WATIC is now. I remember 4 years ago we played this same venue that we played tonight as one of the opening acts and hardly anyone knew who we were or really even cared. And tonight I got to feel: what not giving up feels like—What hustling every night during those shows so we could make it to the next date adds up to—what years of sleepless days on smelly van floors fade your senses to —and how happy I am to do it with these 4 dorks.
I am proud of the limits we continue to push ourselves in order to jump higher. I love that if ever we make a jump, we get to share it with others at shows and even here through social media?! Feels too good to be right. But then—
we always want more.
We are curious and hungry. I can say “we” so freely because the 5 of us talk about this a lot. We continue to question and learn because we want to be our best selves. Individually and as a whole. Otherwise, I think we would have bought a printer a long time ago. Most nights we come off stage so stoked! And other times we come off stage nagging ourselves about how bad we did and what we need to change so we don’t make the same mistake. Shit, I can remember days I’ve gotten off stage crying because I was so disappointed in my performance. But never do we walk off stage and just shrug it off. Because we realize there has to be a reason even if it’s as annoying as technical difficulties and hardly in our control. But, there is absolutely no growth in giving up. It’s nice to see this a little now that we’ve grown up a bit over the years. I find great respect in people who can embrace a bad day and turn it around. It’s not always easy but I’d say it’s worth it. And I have definitely had to remind myself from time to time to be that kind of person. To get my little Tay fit over with and move forward with improvements. I hope you can find this type of drive in yourselves because it feels awesome when it comes to yah! And because everyone who puts in the time, deserves that. Be grateful out there and work your butts off. Whatever it is you have your eye on.
Thank you guys for tonight. I needed this.
:]
