Forever The Sickest Kids FTSK

Hun singles ‘Whoa Oh! (Me VS Everyone)‘, ‘Hey Brittany‘ en ‘She’s A Lady‘ zijn zeer succesvol en o.a veel bekeken op YouTube.

What is the bands biggest inspiration?
Using all of our God-Given talents to make kids jump, smile, sing, and dance. As far as personal inspiration that is different for each member.

How did you start Forever The Sickest Kids, were you friends before?
Kyle and I (Jonathan) were buddies during High School, and same for Marc and Kent, and Austin and Caleb. We then met each other by playing locally in the Fort Worth Dallas local music scene. Kent, Austin and I reunited at Dallas Baptist University as an unplanned blessing and then that is really when we started writing music together and comin out with the early songs like, Believe Me I’m Lying, Bundled Up, The Party Song, and Hey Brittany.

What’s the origin of the bands name?
It is all four English derived words. So I would say the origin is English. (Haha)

Your new song ‘She Like’s’ is just up and your new EP ‘The Weekend: Friday’ is in pre-order. What could we expect of Forever The Sickest Kids in 2010?
Lots of the same things, new music videos, new albums, new commercial spots, new tours, and new hairdos!

Do you write your songs yourself, if so, who is responsible for your lyrics?”
We have written every song except for our covers obviously ourselves. There are a couple of the newest ones that we did as cowrites, but we take pride in the fact that all of our songs are works we have done. Most lyrics come from Caleb, Jonathan, and Austin, however Marc, Kent, and Kyle help as well each song is written differently.

Which bands do you prefer to compare yourself with?
Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, Brooks and Dunn, George Strait, and Waylon Jennings.

Your band excists for about 3 years now. Have there been (many) changes in the band in those 3 years?
We built this thing on just being true to our roots, and who we really are. That is what we still do and will continue to do and this is what has drawn kids to us the most, is being able to relate to us as real people.

You have your own TWLOHA shirt, why do you support them?
I have dealt with suicide on a personal note, one of my best friends commited suicide when we were both in 6th grade and having to be read what he wrote on his suicide note was somthing I WILL NEVER FORGET, and I wanna do whatever I can to bring awareness to the prevention of depression, self hurt, and suicide.

You’ve been playing with bands like Metro Station and The Cab. What is it like to play with such bands?
They are now good friends of ours and to get to travel new places with your friends is an experience that we will remeber for our whole lives, especially with the Cab and Metro Station because those are bands we have done multiple tours with now.

How does getting into the charts in countries like Japan feel like?
For all 6 of us being #1 for two weeks in Japan was the highlight to date of our Journey. Thank you to Japan and all other countries for making our band known internationally.

In 2009 FTSK started their Europa tour in Amsterdam. Are you planning to visit the Netherlands again in the near future?
No plans right now, we are focusing on the release in the US right now with our first headlining tour. We loved it there and if the chance to come back arose it would be a great possibility of us coming back.

Got anything left to say for our readers?
Thanks so much for being fans, you guys are what keeps this train fueled with steam!
